Get involved with the Savannah Area REALTORS® by joining a Committee! This experience will help you develop leadership skills to grow your business, increase networking opportunities, and understand the operations of the Association

The Budget and Finance Committee shall monitor the income and expenditures of the Savannah Area REALTORS®, prepare and monitor all budgets, and recommend necessary adjustments.
The purpose of the Bylaws Committee is to periodically review, evaluate, and make any changes to the previous SAR Bylaws to ensure that they are worded correctly and accurately and that none of the bylaws conflict with any other. In addition, to add, review, or change any bylaw that the Board of Directors has directed during the current year.
The MLS Committee plays a pivotal role in overseeing the functionality and efficiency of the Multiple Listing Service (MLS), ensuring it continues to serve as a premier platform for real estate professionals to exchange information.
We also work closely with the Hive MLS towards the standardization of MLS Operations. The MLS Committee considers, reviews, and recommends MLS Policy and Rules and Regulations modifications.
The Professional Development Committee implements and maintains educational programs relevant to the industry and current trends to provide members with knowledge and growth in professionalism and success.
The Affiliate Committee shall be responsible for developing services that meet the specific needs of the Savannah Area REALTORS®’ Affiliate Members. As the recognized voice of this membership group, the Committee serves as the primary advocate for educating members about Affiliate Member products or services. It also provides guidance and direction for developing activities, materials, policies, and programs that increase Affiliate representation and involvement with SAR and the real estate industry.
The Awards Committee shall plan the annual banquet and oversee the DSS application process, special awards, and recognitions. These responsibilities include soliciting nominees and selecting recipients from among the applicants for the annual awards banquet.
Provide Broker education, provide broker-to-broker resource network, and encourage the participation of members and recruitment of non-members.
The purpose of the Community Service Committee is to promote a positive image to the community as well as give back to the community by “Being the Voice for Real Estate.” Responsible for community leadership in helping various charities and collaborating with other community organizations to raise and collect funds for their causes as well as public awareness. (Shall work in collaboration with other committees as warranted.)
The DEI Committee shall research and recommend DEI initiatives to increase diversity, equity, and inclusion within the real estate profession, Savannah Association of REALTORS®, and its leadership.
The Lockbox Committee oversees the administration of the central lockbox system.
The Membership Committee shall assist staff with the planning, developing, and executing events to provide networking, industry updates, and professional growth. The committee promotes and encourages new membership, participation, and member retention in the association.
The REALTOR® Party Committee is responsible for representing the interests of SAR and private property rights or the community to government officials. They raise voluntary contributions from REALTOR® members to support issues and political candidates who are friendly to real estate interests. Additionally, the committee educates REALTOR® members about important political issues and encourages their participation in the political process.
The Strategic Planning Committee shall assist the Savannah Area REALTORS® in taking a strategic long-term perspective about its larger environment, how it serves its members, and the role it should play within the real estate industry.
