The Distinguished Sales Society (DSS) recognizes REALTORS® who have participated in a total sales volume of $1,000,000 or more in closed transactions during any calendar year and a minimum of eight (8) transactions. Additionally, because SAR is a member-driven organization that depends on volunteerism for survival, Distinguished Sales Society Volunteer Credits are awarded for participation in committees, work groups and sanctioned community service activities.

2024 DSS Rules & Eligibility

The REALTOR® of the Year is the highest and most coveted award that can be bestowed by one’s peers. This award honors the outstanding contributions of a REALTOR® to the Savannah Area REALTORS®, the Georgia Association of REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS®. The recipient must demonstrate what is known as “REALTOR® Spirit”, which is embodied by faithfulness to the principles of the REALTOR® organization, professionalism and the Code of Ethics.

SAR REALTOR® of the Year Application

This award is named in honor of the Savannah Area REALTORS® first President in 1907. The recipient shall have been active for at least ten (10) years, a past SAR REALTOR® of the Year, and shall have exhibited continued leadership and support of the Savannah Area REALTORS®. Nominations may be made by individuals or firms, including the member’s own office.

Charles F Fulton Award Application

This distinction is given to members of the greater Savannah real estate community who have excelled, throughout a minimum of twenty years of service to the local, state and national associations, to the industry, the community, and the public. Hall of Fame candidates are evaluated in the areas of longevity, productivity, association service, and overall image within the industry and the general public.

Konter Hall of Fame Award Application

This award is presented annually to the Broker, Owner, or Manager of the Year and recognizes professional and personal achievement by a Savannah Area REALTORS®, full-time professional Broker, Owner or Manager. Nominations maybe made by individuals or firms, including the member’s own office.

Philip M. Heidt Award Application

The Affiliate of the Year Award recognizes the outstanding contributions of an Affiliate Membership. While this award may be presented annually, the Selection Committee has the discretion to not select a recipient in a given year. No one company can win this award more than once in a three-year period. The Affiliate of the Year will be selected by the President, President-elect, Awards Chairman and Executive Officer. The Association’s Chief Executive Officer will have a voice, but no vote.

The Don Golden Leadership Scholarship gives a REALTOR® member of SAR the opportunity to experience a Georgia Association of REALTORS® Conference in order to obtain the “big picture” of the Mission and Vision of the Savannah Area REALTORS® on the local and state level.

Who is Eligible?

Savannah Area REALTOR® members who are actively involved on the Local Level demonstrating outstanding leadership potential and who have never attended a Georgia Association REALTORS® meeting.  Ambitious movers and shakers making a difference in their local association and who are business-focused, as well as leadership/giving back to the industry focused, are encouraged to apply for this scholarship.

Who is Not Eligible?

Any REALTOR® member who has been a REALTOR® for longer than ten years or has previously attended a GAR conference.
