Kevin Allen is the president of American Moving and Storage. He graduated in 1988 from Georgia Military College with an associate’s degree.
Kevin started in the moving business in 2004 with a small family owned business in Savannah, GA. His responsibilities included managing moving crews, dispatching, quality control, sales and other operations functions (i.e. payroll, training, and scheduling). The company grew from $0 to $60,000 a month within the first year.
In 2008, Kevin opened American moving in storage as a 49% shareholder with a silent investor. From 2008 until July 2013 Kevin was directly responsible for all hiring all operations and all sales of American Moving and Storage. Gross Sales for end of year 2013 was 1.9 million.
Due to irreconcilable differences with his business partner, Kevin left AMS in July, 2013 and purchased 100% of the company in January, 2015. Since the purchase date of January, 2015, Kevin has proven that he has the wherewithal to implement a plan of strategic profitable growth. In a short period of time, he has changed the course of the company by correcting processes, implementing new processes, hiring competent team members and growing the company sales at the same time.
Before Kevin left and after his return / purchase of the company, Kevin was and is directly responsible for the procurement of several contracts, getting the warehouse and American Moving and Storage approved by the department of defense to provide relocation services for all military service members. The contracts that Kevin secured include but are not limited to are as follows:
Warehousing and delivery of all furniture and items to the Brice Hotel, Extended Stay, Springhill Suites and WINN Army hospital at Ft. Stewart
The DPM contract for Parris Island.
Balfour Beatty Communities, (in charge of all housing on Ft. Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield.
The Housing Authority of Savannah.
The interstate and international relocation contract for SCAD staff and faculty.
Many verbal contracts / ongoing working relationships with builders such as D R Horton, K Hovnanian Homes, Synergy Homes, Rethink Design Studio and others.
Contracts for port services and warehousing operations for three-hotel projects (The Brice by Kimpton, Extended Stay, SpringHill Suites).
Contract for Winn Army Hospital relocations and FF&E (Furniture Furnishings & Equipment) installation.

Kevin was directly engaged in getting American Moving and Storage approved as an agent for National Van Lines. Kevin, on behalf of American Moving and Storage was recognized by Savannah Area Board of Realtors, now Savannah Area Realtors, for Affiliate Member of the year in 2010.
He has cultivated and maintains a preferred vendor status with many brokers and real estate agents such as Keller Williams, Southbridge Realty, Remax Savannah, Coldwell Banker, Cora Bett, Ben Farmer Realty and many others.
American Moving and Storage has created and maintains working relationships with many builders, realtors, designers, SCAD, Gulfstream, HAS, Tishco (the Housing Authority of Hinesville) and many other individuals and businesses.
At Kevin’s leadership, American Moving and Storage has limited authority in South Carolina which they plan to expand this year. American Moving and Storage plans to add over the road long-haul drivers and open an agency in Bluffton South Carolina within the next year. Kevin has the experience, the ambition, and the drive to do whatever it takes to succeed and continue to grow American Moving and Storage to be the best moving company in the industry.
